Title: Varieze brake info wanted
Post by: eric r on August 07, 2009, 09:57:54 AM
I am changing brakes, wheels, master cylinders over to lightweight Grove units.
I was/am considering putting the cylinders in the nose, but would like opinions on leaving them aft vs changing to front mounted.

Hello Eric

I did that when building my Long Ez 20 years ago and I have always been very happy with that.
Main interests:
More place in the engine area,
Easy access to brake master cylinders and very easy leak check during pre flight;
Positive effect on center & gravity balance
Main drawback, if you installed rear rudder pedals,  you will probably lost brake compmand from on rear seat.
