Title: Two Vari-Ezes on eBay

Any body know any info about either of the two planes now on eBay? Both owners have lost their medicals. One is painted red which Rutan routinely advised not to do. Any scuttlebut?

I asked the "red" owner for the aircraft tail number since it was removed digitally from the pics.  No response.  ???

No vortilons installed on the "white" bird.  The registration status for this one per faa.gov is "In Question" but it appears the paperwork was submitted in Sept.  Hopefully that's just red tape.

A toss up between "great deal" and "real expensive paperweight"!   :wink:

One of them is listed at 735 lbs empty with a 1250 lb gross! Not sure which varieze POH that comes from!

Yeah, I noticed the 735/1250. Presumably, the builder built heavy and simply certified with a heavier gross, which any builder can do.
