Wiring a Second com without an audio panel

Hi folks,

Id like to add a second VHF comm, but I dont want to install an audio panel,

Any Idea how you can combine/isolate the audio from 2 radios? The transmit selection is pretty simple, (just switch the mic key) but Im not sure what to do with the audio out,

Check your radios, some (ICOM) have aux audio inputs. example, You can take the audio out of Com1 and send it to a aux audio on com2.

Icom as in A-200?

I installed my A-200, but I dont recall an aux audio input,  I guess I'll need to take a look at the wiring diagram again ..

I just did that.  If you have an intercom, all the required wiring runs to it.  Get a 4pdt switch from digikey or mouser electronics.  You'll see 12 contacts in three rows.  Find the wires that run to the intercom's ptt input, mic input and audio input.  put those wires and the common ground on each of the center row terminals of the switch.  Run one side (row) , in the same order, of the contacts  to the original radio, the second  to the number 2.  If you don't have an intercom, use the wires that run to the headphone and microphone panel jacks instead of those to the intercom.

The top row of the Molex connector should be A-S (left to right)
(there is NO G, I, O, or Q ).   The bottom row is 1-15 (seems like they
used all of the numbers in sequence) <grin>

C, D, and 3 go to the audio panel so you have THREE outputs.   Use
shielded wire, of course.    4 is the ground for the shield for any of
those 3.
