Hangar Flying / Nose Gear Cover
« on: December 27, 2007, 09:14:38 AM »
I have just installed the electric nose gear operator from Jack Wilhelmson. It is much higher than the manual operator was. How have others built a cover over it to make it air tight? Thanks

Hangar Flying / Annual Inspection Check List
« on: October 10, 2006, 09:08:22 AM »
My EZ is almost to the date of annual inspection. I have seen check lists for the inspection but can't remember where I saw it. Could someone please let me know where I call download one?

A side Note: I was having cylinder head temp problems and built about a dozen different baffles/ramps. Not much of that worked or just moved the problem around. The last thing I did was to carefully reroute all my oil lines, gas lines, and electrical wiring to be as compact as possable and leave the air passages to the cylinders as clear as possable, this did more good that all the other stuff I tried. Head temps are now 320 to 345.

Hangar Flying / cylinder head temps
« on: April 25, 2006, 07:42:17 PM »
I am flying off the hours and the main remaining problem is marginal head temps. I live in Mich. and now that the weather is warming up my head temps are going up too. Oil cooling is no problem. Do armpit inlets work? If so, exactly how are they built and how big should they be?Any suggestions? Thanks

Hangar Flying / Strobe and Antenna Wires
« on: April 08, 2005, 02:50:01 PM »
What is the best way to get strobe wires and antenna wires past the hard points on the back side of the spar? I know drilling holes is a bad idea, but can the wires be run through the spar?
