Title: drive lug

Hi  canardians,

I bought a new prop. The new one has more pitch than the previous prop, so I have to add a piece of aluminium between the spinner back plate and the prop otherwise the leading edge is in contact with the back plate.
What is the minimum length of the drive lug that must enter into the prop?

I hope my question is clear enough  ;)

Hi,
Here under the reply of Gary...

"The drive lug plays an insignificant role on a wooden prop.  All the torque is transmitted due to friction.  The important issue is the 2 1/4' center pilot should have adequate engagement to keep the prop centered.  You certainly don't need much of a shim to provide a gap between the prop and the spinner bulkhead.  I would think that .063" would be sufficient."
