Hangar Flying / solitaire
« on: May 01, 2005, 09:24:07 AM »
Please help. I just won the bid on a set of original and complete Solitaire plans. I don't want to build it tomorrow but I think I would like to build one. I have been reading and now realize that the fuselage was pre-fab as well as the wing spars and a few other criticle items. I thought the plans would be like the Long eze or Vari eze and I would be able to fabricate everything from the plans. It is not so. I doubt anyone is producing these items now, it was Task I believe that produced them originaly. Thoughts?

Hangar Flying / trade for flying Long EZ?
« on: April 22, 2005, 06:52:21 AM »
Is anyone itching to build again? I have a beautiful GlaStar project which is at about 75% finished. It has a full IFR pre-wired panel from Aerotronics and many options. Since I started I have gained two young kids and a lot more time involvement at work and don't see an end to my time restraints. I would be interested in trading for a very nice flying Long ez. I believe the fair market value for my project with the panel is $40-45k. Anyone interested or know someone who may be? Please contact me at datcope@comcast.net

Hangar Flying / considering a Vari
« on: April 18, 2005, 05:20:27 AM »
I am considering purchasing a Vari ez. I love the design etc. My concern is whether I will fit and can fly it in Cg solo. I am 6 ft 2 inches which I am told will be ok, but I weigh 235. I read that max pilot weight is 220lbs.  Yes, I can loose a few pounds but my dad is the other pilot who would fly this bird and he is a couple pounds heavier. I realize it would be a "solo" plane or with a light passenger, but will it work with a typical Vari ez CG?

Hangar Flying / Long ez plans fraud
« on: January 18, 2005, 05:44:46 PM »
I thought I would put out a warning to everyone. I bought a set of plans that were advertised on this site as originals. I paid $450.00 for them and received a set of copied plans without the promised newsletters. When I contacted him he said he did not know they were copies and would refund the money. That was a month ago and now he will not return my emails. His name is Mike Schiavone. His address is 17930 Se 158th ct., Weirsdale Florida, 32195. His email address is flyr87@yahoo.com . Please feel free to let him know what you think of him, but most important do not let him commit fraud with you or your freinds who might want an original set of plans. If you have questions about this you can contact me at datcope@comcast.net . My name is Todd Copeland and I will be happy to answer any questions.
