Unfortunately the glass is cracked horizontally. I ordered a new set however i may need to cut into the firewall and remove the old one to install. Its an annoyance at the moment but at some point it will be a problem.

Why would you need to cut into the firewall to replace a fuel sight gauge?

I just finished exactly the same job. The sight gauge is far from the firewall.
Vance provides very good directions. I would make some suggestions, tho. Email me direct at "bruce@fairpoint dot net"

My Longeze is not currently flying due to mistakes that I have to correct.
I have NO business advising others how to do anything.
I would like to help others but I really don't have the knowledge or ability.
Thanks to those who have pointed that out to me.
I would be careful to drain ALL of the gasoline AND be certain all of the fumes are gone, too.
Do you know how to do that?
There are experts who should have already told you on this site.
