The first thing I always did when signing on to EZ Squadron was to look for Dan's postings or replies, they were always informative and fair, but alas no more. Although I never met Dan, I always intended to, I felt as though I knew him. It is a great loss to the EZ community and my condolences to his family and many friends. Easyrider LongEZ93

Usually the first guy to answer my rookie questions, and always with grace, generosity, and expertise.
So sorry to hear this.

I met Mr Patch for the first time at the last EZ Squadron fly in ( Brown Field , SD) Delta Pop was busy running the aircraft scales ( with Harry A.) but he took the time to answer few questions that i had . I was impressed with his knowlege and his dedication to the canard community. A great loss to us all.

Its been a tough year for the experimental community and hopefully Delta Pop will signal the end of it. He was ALWAYS there to offer constructive advise and I looked forward to his ideas and his willingness to help in any way. Prayers always help, Snappy

How can words express.... You were a mentor. We may never have met, but we spoke on these pages.
You will be missed Delta Pop. Will will certainly be missed....

I learned of Dan's crash last night and have been reflecting on it throughout the day.
Best wishes to the family. I can only imagine how you feel & wish you strength and courage within your grief.
I never met Dan but truly appreciated what he had to share with us about our planes.
I a stuck wondering what happened. I would like to make some sense of what happened to this very accomplished pilot... i am sure that we all would.
with gratitude,
Dave

I enjoyed his postings also, along with his wisdom. Having been flying since 1973 with the Navy then. Now mainly homebuilt flying. You try to learn from every crash and try to avoid making the same mistakes. Always keep your SA and when your close to the ground, gotta be real careful.

I returned from a business trip to read about Dan's accident. I am sick. We have seen a steep increase in Canard accidents over the last 4-6 months. I counted on Dan's expert advise to help me keep my Long in good shape. He will be sorley missed. My condolances go out to his family.
