E-Racer
« on: October 03, 2013, 09:34:22 PM »
I am planning on building an airplane and so far the E-Racer is my top choice. With an io-360 it looks like it can do 190kts true and have a useful load of ~800lbs? is my information correct? Do they have constant speed propellers? What do I need to know as a first time builder? Can I take classes to teach me to common techniques? Lastly are there any canard builders in the Sacramento, CA area?

Thanks!

Hi Newby

It would be nice to know your name.   Anyway, the FIRST thing you should do is join the CSA.
That will give you a directory of 893 members as of Jan.   There are about 97 of them in CA.
I don't know if Cottonwood, CA or Port Hueneme, CA is in the San Francisco area or not.

You also get the Jan., April, and July issues.  Oct should be here.   Maybe it is; I don't remember.

The value of the directory alone is worth the $30 cost.   You can even order back issues  of the newsletter.  You can go through the directory and find every Eracer guy that is flying and every
one that is building.

Information on the CSA is on this website.

Go for it.

Cocolos,
There are several builders in the area.  Two beautiful Cozys have been built in Lincoln and Red Bluff.  An A&P who built his own Long EZ is in Vacaville.
Lots of good info in CSA newsletters, maybe more in the older ones than recently.
Check in with canardfinder.com for much more info and leads.
Several of us owners, not builders, in the area.  Two will be at Capital Air Show Sunday.
