It also connects to a GPS for fuel to a way point and fuel remaining at that waypoint.
It also has an additional channel for an analogue input, I use mine for carb. temperature

I always consider the LongEz to be a flying Lotus
In fact Colin Chapman and Burt Rutan were workings together on a micro light for the European market.A prototype actually flew, I think it was called the Elsie.
It all ended when Chapman died of a heart attack at 54.
General Motors that had a controlling interest in Lotus cancelled the contract.
I beleive the aircraft is at Lotuus in Hethel UK.
I have owned and raced several Lotus's and one I owned was an Éclat and I was considering putting
a Rover V8 in it.
The Rover engine was actually lighter than the original Lotus 907 engine with a lot more power and torque,I never got round to it but it was interesting to see you put one in an Eracer

I have an iPad Mini with WingsX7 for about a month
So far so good
It has a screen lock function which locks out accidental screen touching
The definition is good and the size great for a LongEZ
I use a remote GPS mounted on the headrest connecting via Bluetooth
I have put velcro on the back and I have a a thigh strap with velcro
Another advantage it fits in the top pocket of a military flying suit
My Garmin days are also numbered

If you have you can download the WingsX App for a month's free trial
I have an iPad mini with WingsX and it has updated Sectionals although I have the yearly subscription
Still way cheaper than Garmin updates
