I have a contenental 0-200 the alt. is gear driven off the front of motor I am sure the toyota alt. is belt driven.

I have a contenental 0-200 in a verieze the generator was leaking oil thru the shaft seal so I removed it . am looking for an alternator for it. does anyone know what is the best way to go for power. I have electric start & need power for radio & gps only. the 30 amp hr batt doesn"t last long enough for a long trip. so I end up having to hand prop on about the third stop. any info would be great. PS>am very glad this forum is back on the air.

I am a non builder and I need some info about making a batt access cover on a veze. tips per say about cutting hole and can you reuse the piece you cut out . If reinforcement is needed where hole is cut. the batt is in the nose for weight and balance purposes and the only way to get at it is take the canard off which is a hassle every time you need to check batt. any info welcome thanks rebel. :?

Yes I talked with Todd I am sending him full size drawing of frame and he is going to make me a canopy to fit. I am holding the other canopy for him so if you know anyone who needs a longeze canopy let me or Todd know and it can be shipped from here. It is still in the plastic it was shipped in and original crate. Thanks very much Rebel.

oh I forgot to add this to last post I did order the canopy from aircraft spruce. and that same part #. they get their canopys from todds canopy

that would work if the canopy was the right size and shape it is 24" wide at widest spot and vezy is only 18" wide at widest spot plus the nose is rounded on the new canopy and the veze is slightely pointed.. I can email you some pics. to see if you think I can make it work I don't have a way to post them here. thanks rebel.

just a quick note to anyone out there ordering a canopy thru todds canopy if you are replacing an existing canopy on a varieze or any othe r existing AC his canopy doesen,t have a lip like the original canopy. with his canopy you have to modify your frame to make it fit instead of just cutting the glass. unfortunately I found out the hard way.so am sending it back and looking for someone who makes the original canopy that has a lip on it. checked with aircraft parts but havent heard back yet. If anyone has any sugestions please let me know of other options.

thanks for info hav frame all ready for new canopy epoxy & bid on the way can't wait to get back in the air but I guess it would be a little breezy with no canopy so guess I'll have to wait. :lol:

does anyone know if there is any info for replacing canopy I have the old canopy out and frame sanded. would like to know how many layers of bid to secure new canopy. also any tips about keeping epoxy off new canopy where bid is layed up next to peel plastic. thanks for any input the Rebel. :lol:

I am not sure of exact date Char gave me a schedule but i am not sure if the date has been changed because of conflict with other events. I am sure someone on this forum knows when it is. I hope to have my new canopy on in time for it. I do plan on going. so see you there. :lol:

I found a canopy thru aircraftspruce its a todds canopy will have it here in 7 to 10 days. have already got the frame ready for new canopy when it ges here. thanks for reply the rebel. :lol:

I am a non builder with a varieze with a tinted canopy that has a severe distortion for forward visibility just about eyelevel and now it has a crack at rear where it goes into fiberglass so need to replace. does anyone know where I can get one used or new. :lol: JUst a quick word about Kanab flyin. I had a wonderful time got to meet a bunch of great people. also gathered a lot of great info. about canards. for one like securing rudders when tied down. had a great flight back even tho had to leave early. wish I could have stayed for sunday evening dinner but thats life in the fast lane. thanks very much to Char for letting me know about Kanab. looking forward to Mesquite. I plan on going to copperstate on the 26-29 oct. which don't conflict with Mesquite. So see you there. the runnin Rebel. varieze PS.
