Hi All!
Executive Summary
-----------------
Canards de Mayo is an annual gathering of around 100 canard enthusiasts in the California gold country at the Columbia, CA (o22) airport. This year's event will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 1, 2 and 3.
The Saturday night dinner is $22 and reservations must be made with Don Denhard. See below for address and dinner choices.
Presenters this year will be Larry Lombard of Featherlite, Burrall Sanders of Freeflight Composites, Gary Hertzler of Hertzler Props, Jim Price (single engine altitude record holder) and Joe Hull (Cozy builder). I am really excited about the topics these gentlemen will be presenting. See below for presentation titles.
There will be plenty of campsites available at the airport as well as a sheltered meeting room for the presentations and for the dinner. See website for more details.

This year will be the 5th Canards de Mayo fly-in. This year’s dates are May 1, 2, and 3. The previous 4 Fly-ins have been a great success and we intend this year's to be the best! Last year, we had 91 canard enthusiasts for dinner, over 100 throughout the day and 52 canards on the flight line.
Dinner

If you have not yet signed up for the dinner on Saturday evening, please do so as soon as possible. We need to let the caterer know how many meals to prepare.
Reservations should be sent to:

Please include a check for $22 to cover the dinner. Also, specify which of the following choices you would like:
Pork loin with mushroom sauce
OR
Chicken cordon bleu
Both meals include:
salad
vegetables
desert

I am delighted to announce a fantastic program schedule for this year. We have some great presenters lined up to speak about interesting and informative topics. Below is a summary of the schedule for the event.

About the fly-in and Columbia California

The campgrounds at the airport are nestled in a beautiful forest. There are clean flush toilets and hot showers available. The campground also includes picnic tables and a couple of barbeque grills, though many attendees take the short walk into the historic gold mining town of Columbia for meals.
If you have not visited Columbia you are missing an experience. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains it is a jewel not to be missed. Columbia has been preserved as it was in the heyday of the 49ers Gold Rush. It is a fun place to visit and explore.
The town has 4 good restaurants and an authentic Hotel from the gold mining period. The Fallon House Theater has live, professional, theatrical performances that are first class. Show information can be found at http://www.sierrarep.com/
