Title: Nose gear door help

OK guys, what's the best way to put them on. I have installed an electric nose lift, and since I'll be doing fairing (glass and epoxy) work anyway, I'm considering the doors for the wheel area.
Is there a great difference in drag from the flat plate bolted to the nose wheel casting approach? The photos I've seen make it look fairly simple, but it seems that the flat plate method centers the nosewheel during retract ... aeronautical engineers please repspond ... all those  unhooded common sense (been there, tried that) types are also requested to post their findings and opinions.

My plane had a flat plate bolted on the front, . .but it restricted the nose wheel from castering the full 360 degrees. In fact, . . I couldn't push the plane back into the hangar. I had to lift the nose while pushing.  Aslo, . .from trying to caster, the plate got bent on both sides.  Didn't work for me.  I didn't add it, . .it came that way.

Mine came with a plate which worked fine and did the 360. I have changed the casting to the later model (rectangular with the four bolts vs the original varieze one bolt setup), which will require glass work anyway, therefore the look into doors ... Thety all look good in the photos, but real life use will tell the story!

The nose door concept shown by Waiter and myself are well-tested in the real word.  Ken Miller (LEZ), Dewey Davis (Cozy III), James Redmon (Berkut), and John Slade (Cozy IV) are just a few who have them installed and flying.
