Title: Engine Questions
Post by: Delta Mike on March 08, 2006, 12:24:05 AM
Are there any EZs running fuel injected engines?
Are there any EZs running the subaru EJ22 (Legacy 2.2) engine?
What are the pros and cons of running oli additives like Z-Max, or synthetic oils?

Just curious, I am starting to look into becoming a canard flyer.

What are the weight and packaging impacts in the nacelle of the EZs? Are we talking Lycomings and Continentals? Do they require a computer for electronic ignition and injection control?

Do you still keep one of the ignition systems on a magnito?
What is the reliability of electronic systems?
What percentages do they improve power and efficiency?

Electronic Ignition is lighter.  I have 1 mag and 1 EI.  No change to the cowl.  I would imagine that the fuel injection would weigh the same as a carb---but don't know for a fact.

You can read all you want about aircraft electronic ignition from this site

You will want to open the ignition1 through ignition3 files
