Does anyone have any information about this good-looking Russian Long-EZ?

I did a little digging, Joe, and found a forum "across the pond" with like minded folks.  Pretty neat stuff.  They poke around here, picking up drawings and pics and such.

The owner/pilot of the Long-EZ pictured posts several notes, pics, and videos about OSH, SNF, and is (by all accounts) an EAA member!  How COOL is THAT!?

Anyhow, here's a link to their forum (translated from Russian to English) that provides a full chronology of his Long-EZ:

Neat read!  The aircraft itself was born in the US and shipped to Russia via container ship.  Anyone recognize the bird?  I remember seeing it... just don't know where.

My favorite translated quote thus far is (when discussing the long noze mod):

"Misha, me greater pleases itself long nose, than Rutanovskiy original. It looks much better."

"Rutanovskiy!"  Now that's a classic.

Enjoy,

D

That aircraft certainly IS a Longeze.

I once dropped by Dave Ronneberg's business on the airport
at Santa Monica (that has been a few years).   There were a
couple (3?) of guys there building a Berkut.   They were from
one of the Russian states.   I guess there is a Berkut flying
around in Russia or the area now.     :D

Perhaps it was Mishka Kasyan's "Super Berkut" (N38MK... IO-540... zooom-zoom!)?  Quite a few years back, indeed.     I believe his airplane is still in the states, though.  He has a few videos on YouTube (search for 'Mihka') around Santa Monica / LA basin.  Good stuff.

I'm owner of this Long-EZ.

We are visit after Sun'n Fun 2007 Santa Monica and my friend Mishka Kasyan (N38MK) show us several airfields and canards in Los Angeles area. We fly on Vari-eze and Berkut canards and meet with many canard owners. We get good chance to flight on world's fastest Vari-eze of Klaus Savier!

I'm not builder of Berkut in Russia. Nobody in Russia have this plans now. I have 3 Velocity SE RG kits and first Velocity will fly at this year.
