Hangar Flying / Varieze canopy
« on: February 22, 2007, 10:52:08 AM »
Thanks for the info D.
I think Aircraft Inc  was probably the one I found, so I've sent them an e-mail.    I e mailed an enquiry to Todds a few days ago but haven't received a reply to date.    Hopefully I will get around to replacing my tatty canopy in the Fall but I'm not looking forward to it...     John M.

Hangar Flying / Thicker Varieze canopy

Can anyone please tell me where I may be able to buy a thicker Varieze canopy. I came across a website some time ago that advertised them but lost the details and now I can't fint it.  I'm beginning to think I imagined it.  I think they were 3/16" thick instead of the usual 1/16".    Thanks, John M.

Thanks for that useful info Joe /Mat, I have now orderd a LongEZ leg from Larry at Featherlite and he agrees with you that it could be made to fit the VEZ with only a little sanding and cutting.
I have repaired the glass damage today and hope to be flying again soon.
I will certainly heed the excellent advise about the alignment process Joe, especially the wheel castor inclination.
Yoe have been a great help guys.   John.

I have contacted Larry at Featherlite and he only has Long EZ legs but he thinks they could possibly be modified to fit, so I'm in the process of checking that out.
Thanks for your response.    John.

« on: October 31, 2006, 06:00:02 PM »
Hi Everyone,
After 6 year of flying my Varieze in the UK and many hudreds of uneventful landings, I have finally managed to do one with the gear up...The nose leg was badly damaged  so I am in desperate need of a replacement.  Can anyone please advise me on where I can locate one.

Thanks.
