Anyone know of someone still useing a VW engine on a varieze? Performance, mounting, ups, downs?

I am looking to buy a completed varieze without engine. I have a vw engine that has been on a Zodiac and rates around 100hp. Has anyone know of any flying with vw engines now and if so performance?
