Title: Varieze Main Wing Anhedral

Gentlemen, I am nearly finished with my second varieze wing and will soon be mounting the attach brackets to the center spar.  Over the years I have read a few opinions on the main wing anhedral.  Some feel the plane flies better with the anhedral decreased or removed altogether.  While I tend to be a stock builder and embrace few modifications, this is one change that cannot be made later.  If you have flown a VE with this type of modification and can make a recommendation, I would like to hear from you.  Thanks in advance,

I did a quick search in the Canard Aviator Archives under "wing and anhedral" and came up with "Joe Person s First Flight" where he discusses some of the mods on his VariEze.  Looks like Joe and Bill James might be a source for more information.

"The Centersection spar is built "upside down" - the greater taper is on the
bottom now (yes, I installed the thicker sparcaps on the topside...). The
anhedral is reduced by half. This all yields about 6 to 7 inches more of
wingtip clearance, and slightly more positive roll stability (for better
x-country work). Huge thanks to Bill James for proving out that an Eze with even less
(i.e. about zero) anhedral on the main wings works just dandy.
