Hangar Flying

Gentlemen,

After seeing an article on seatbelt  airbags, . .I contacted the manufacturer/marketer and they told me they had not yet had enough interest to warrant special design for the Long-ez/Vari-ez.  I got to thinking about it and if the shoulder harness was strong enough, (4 point )  the airbags would be a moot point.

Anyway, . . he told me that he was waiting for enough interest to be generated before approaching our type.   So . . . .if you are at all interested in lap or shoulder belt airbags, . . . let your voice be heard and when they have heard from enough of us, . .they'll tackle the type.   

I apologize, . The name of the MFG eludes me at the moment.  If I think of it,  I'll post.

Very Sorry to hear about your father.  Our prayers are with you.  The plane will be a memory one day.  You only get one father.  Hope he comes through o.k.

Such a brief  meeting  with  the  " WORLD  FAMOUS "   Mr.  Bill  James.   I walked up just as he was masking taping his seams in the canopy and wings just prior to a deluge downpour on Thursday evening.  I said  " Are you Bill James ? "   He confessed he was and I replied, ." Hi,  I'm  " Glennbob " ", . which was surprisingly met with a big bear hug ! !   That was cool.  Too bad we didn't have much time to chat as the rain was a comin' and Bill was a tapin' ! !

Best thing I took from the show was the discovery of  " Toe Holes " in the back of the pilot's seat of an EZ from California.  The one with the alien on the inside of the speed break.  The alien caption is  " Woops, . .wrong planet !!"  Grin, Grin.    -  The  " toe holes "  are a great idea.  This makes the gib  much more comfortable as they have an inclined plane to rest their feet in.  This EZ also had ramps glued to the floor just in front of the holes for foot pads.  The neat part was that the pilot told me that when he has no gib, he can use the holes to store a water bottle or a sandwich.  He had "drop in" containers that fit neatly in the holes.  I thought that was a great idea. 

If anyone knows who this guy is, . .have him drop a couple of pics to show this.  I plan to add this to my bird.

Just found this post from Waiter, . .from the last time I asked this question.  Looks like he frames the plexi in from both sides.   I'm thinking I won't cover the outside edge of the plexi on the outside or bottom of the strake / window.  I'm hoping to be as close to flush to the strake bottom as poss.
