Has anyone tried insulating/wrapping the headers and exhaust to reduce heat on the cowling of Long-EZs using a product like this from Thermo-Tech: http://www.thermotec.com/exhaust-insulating-wrap.html?

Thanks! I took this advice of a builder ans super glued a nut and inserted a thumb screw. Works like a charm.  ;D

I need to replace the plastic bolt/shaft and knob that opens/closes the cabin vent, located on the canopy in front of the pilot. Any thoughts for where I can find or what to use to fabricate one?
